Tossa de Mar sits 85 km northeast of Barcelona on the Costa Brava. Its most iconic feature is the Vila Vella — a 12th-century walled town perched on a rocky headland above the main beach — the only intact example of a medieval walled town on the entire Catalan coast.
The town's beaches include Platja Gran beneath the castle walls, and a series of smaller coves to the north and south, many accessible only by boat or on foot along the Camí de Ronda coastal trail. Marc Chagall called Tossa de Mar "the blue paradise" and painted there in 1934.
A private transfer is particularly useful for Tossa de Mar as the town's parking is limited in summer and the approach road from the south (GI-682) can be congested. Arriving by private van lets you be dropped at your accommodation entrance directly.

Tossa de Mar is unique for its remarkably well-preserved medieval walled town (Vila Vella), which dates from the 12th century and sits on a promontory above the main beach.
